I for one have very sensitive skin. I was so excited to make my own tallow based makeup, but I found I was breaking out, and the only new ingredient was the zinc. Turns out that is actually kind of rare, supposedly. Zinc oxide is genuinely beneficial for most skin types — it has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties used therapeutically for conditions including acne and rosacea.

But, for my gentle skin, here is the formula without zinc, just to see if it makes a difference for me.
