Once you experience how beautifully grass-fed tallow nourishes skin, the question becomes obvious: why stop at moisturizer?
What if your makeup could actually improve your skin while you wear it?
The Same Philosophy, Now in Color
If you’ve followed my work, you already know my approach.
In the kitchen, I take foods we already love and quietly swap in ingredients that are more wholesome, more nourishing, and more stable—without sacrificing function.
I applied that same engineering mindset to skincare.
And then I realized:
Makeup deserved the same treatment.
Instead of copying trendy ingredient lists, I asked a simpler question:
What does skin actually need—and how can color support that instead of fighting it?
What Makes This Different
This isn't just a "clean" ingredient swap—it's biomimetic. Tallow is our base, and its fatty acid profile mirrors our skin's natural sebum, which means it absorbs deeply, repairs tissue, and nourishes instead of sitting on the surface. Every product was chosen with the same kind of seemless blending of non-toxic function and feel.
The line is designed as a system. Each product works together because they share the same base formula. This creates something really special: you can blend products together to customize your exact shade.
Your foundation not quite the right tone? Mix in a touch of the yellow corrector. Need a lighter shade for winter? Blend with the white corrector. Want a deeper summer shade? Add a bit of bronzer.
Because the foundations are all tallow-based, they blend seamlessly—no separation, no streaking, just perfect custom color.
Transparency, Not Gatekeeping
I wasn’t a formulator when I started.
I learned by doing—by testing, failing, adjusting, and understanding why things worked.
Just like I share my food and skincare recipes, I share these formulas too.
You can buy from me, or you can make them yourself. Either way, you'll know exactly what's in them and why.
Because that's the whole point: transparency, education, and empowerment.
No mysterious "proprietary blends." No ingredients you can't pronounce. No fragrances or the chemicals not listed within them. Just honest, nourishing makeup that happens to perform as well as (or better than) luxury brands.
Whether you purchase our carefully crafted products or use our shared recipes to make your own, I'm excited to support your journey to cleaner, more intentional beauty.
Because you deserve to know exactly what's touching your skin—and why.

P.S. – If you're already making our tallow balms and lotions, you have most of the skills you need for these color products. The foundations and cream products use nearly identical techniques. The only new skill is pressing powders and eyeshadows—and I promise, it's easier than you think.
Designed to Pair With Your Skincare — Not Replace It
This makeup line doesn’t replace skincare.
It continues it.
Your skin doesn’t stop being skin just because you put on makeup.
That’s why this line was designed to sit comfortably on top of:
tallow lotions
balms
oils
sensitive, healing skin
No stripping.
No tightness.
No “can’t wait to wash this off.”
This is also NOT:
“clean makeup”
“DIY makeup”
“natural alternatives”
This is a unified skin system that happens to include color.

10. Cacao-Tallow Lip Balm (Ultimate Protection)
Container: 10ml (0.32 oz) twist-up tubes
Batch Size: 169g (makes 30 tubes)
Texture: Firm but glides smoothly, not too hard or too soft
Benefits: Healing + protective barrier
The Philosophy
Tallow (40%): Biomimetic healing - absorbs deeply, repairs tissue
Cacao Butter (30%): Barrier protection - shields lips, prevents moisture loss
Beeswax (20%): Structure and long-lasting protection
Balanced texture: Substantial enough for outdoor protection, smooth enough for daily wear
Complete Formula (169g batch = 30 tubes)
Solid Fats (melt together):
Grassfed Tallow: 68g (40%) = 4½ Tablespoons
Cocoa Butter: 51g (30%) = 3½ Tablespoons
Beeswax (grated): 34g (20%) = 7 teaspoons
Liquid Oils (add after cooling slightly):
Vanilla-Infused Jojoba Oil: 20g (12%) = 4 teaspoons (or 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp)
Squalane: 10g (6%) = 2 teaspoons
Booster (add last):
Vitamin E Oil: 3g (2%) = ½ teaspoon
Total: 186g makes ~30 tubes
Detailed Instructions
STEP 1: Prep Containers (Do This First!)
Line up all 30 lip balm tubes with caps off, standing upright in holder or box
Have funnel or dropper ready
Work area should be clear - you must work quickly once heated
Have all ingredients measured and ready
STEP 2: Melt the Solid Fats
Fill bottom pot of double boiler with 1-2 inches water
Bring water to gentle simmer over medium-low heat
Place top pot/bowl on double boiler
Add in this order (this matters!):
Beeswax first (7 tsp) - takes longest to melt
Cocoa butter (3½ Tbsp) - once beeswax starts melting
Tallow (4½ Tbsp) - last, melts quickly
Stir occasionally until completely melted and smooth
Temperature should reach 160-170°F (or until fully liquid and clear)
Takes about 5-10 minutes
Critical: No chunks or graininess should remain
STEP 3: Add Liquid Oils
Remove from heat once solid fats are fully melted
Let cool for 1-2 minutes to about 140-150°F
Still liquid but not scorching hot
You should be able to hold container comfortably for a few seconds
Add liquid oils:
Vanilla-infused jojoba: 4 tsp
Squalane: 2 tsp
Stir thoroughly for 30-60 seconds to fully incorporate
Make sure oils are completely blended, not separated
STEP 4: Add Vitamin E
Add vitamin E oil: ½ tsp
Stir well for another 15-30 seconds
Mixture should be smooth, uniform, and honey-colored (if using natural cocoa butter)
STEP 5: Fill the Tubes WORK QUICKLY - mixture will start to thicken!
Use small funnel or pipette dropper
Fill each tube to just below the rim (about 5-6ml per tube)
Work steadily but don't rush so much that you spill
If mixture starts to thicken, briefly return to double boiler for 30 seconds
Tap tubes gently on counter to release air bubbles
STEP 6: Cool and Cap
Let tubes cool completely at room temperature (1-2 hours)
Do NOT refrigerate - can cause grainy texture
Once completely solid and cool, cap tubes
Wipe any excess from tube edges with paper towel
Troubleshooting
Too Soft:
Increase beeswax to 22-25%
Reduce liquid oils slightly
Too Hard:
Reduce beeswax to 18%
Increase jojoba oil
Grainy Texture:
Melted at too low temperature (didn't fully melt)
Cooled too quickly or in refrigerator
Cocoa butter quality (deodorized cocoa butter is less prone to graining)
Won't Fill Tubes (Too Thick):
Temperature dropped too much
Quickly return to double boiler for 30-60 seconds
Stir and continue filling

Before outdoor activities (hiking, skiing, beach)
