Make your own Outdoor Mini Kitchen

I really wanted to get a station set up for my 2-year-old to be able to wash his own hands. I love the idea of it being an outdoors table so that he can play with it, too!

Costs

  • Pre-made: $400+

  • Hand washing Station:

    • $100 for wooden sink set up (materials or purchased)

    • $100 (ish) for accessories

  • Or just a portable hand washing station: $50

Pasted below are a bunch of inspirational photos I used to help with my own creation. Many pre-made ones need a hose, but i wanted something more water-friendly in california, so made it out of little stainless steel tubs. I try to avoid plastic, but I included some items in case anyone wanted a slightly more cost friendly option. Happily, you only really save $10 here and there so it is worth getting rid of the plastic, but regardless, it is nice to see the option.

Beautiful Etsy table, $400+

Cedar is one of the best woods for outdoor use and will hold up outside for years to come, but it naturally greys in colour over time. UV ray protection not only seals the wood but prevents it from turning grey in colour. Note you will need to refinish your table every 1-2 years. We use Osmo, which is a wonderful non-toxic finish that is safe for kiddos.
